Organisations from across the organ and church music world have announced 'Play the Organ Year 2025' a year-long project to increase the number of people playing the organ and appreciating its music. The initiative involves the Royal College of Organists, Royal School of Church Music, (to which our church is affiliated), Institute of British Organ Building and many more. The organ is a magnificent instrument, unlike any other, but fewer people are getting the chance to discover this for themselves. With this in mind, I plan to hold a workshop on Saturday morning, January 25th from 10am as a taster. Come and listen to what it can do and have a go if you have any keyboard skills.
The first of my organ concerts this year is on Easter Monday April 21st. Commencing at 1.00 p.m. Home-made soup and rolls will be available from 12.15 p.m.
Roger, Organist – The Priory Church of St. Mary.
If you haven’t yet been to one of Roger’s Bank Holiday Monday Concerts, you are very welcome to join us. There is a variety of music and all for the princely sum of £6.00.
